I have a question regarding the "autocomplete" function of controlled vocabularies in DSpace 7 during submission.

 Intended behaviour: Autocomplete function after the input of some letters in dc.subject (such as in the Dspace 7 demo).

I added to local.cfg:

plugin.selfnamed.org.dspace.content.authority.ChoiceAuthority = \
org.dspace.content.authority.DCInputAuthority, \
org.dspace.content.authority.DSpaceControlledVocabulary

and

choices.plugin.dc.subject = srsc
choices.presentation.dc.subject = suggest
vocabulary.plugin.srsc.hierarchy.store = true
vocabulary.plugin.srsc.hierarchy.suggest = true
vocabulary.plugin.srsc.delimiter = "::"

However, during submission instead of an autocomplete function another window opened when I clicked into the field dc.subject:

suggest.JPG

In our DSpace 5.x instance autocomplete works well with presentation style "suggest".

Am I doing something wrong or do others have the same issue?

Best Regards
Simon

Hi Simon,

At this time, support for a hierarchical controlled vocabulary does not yet exist in 7.x.  Here's the ticket for it: https://github.com/DSpace/dspace-angular/issues/815

It's listed in our priority "Tier 2: Medium-High Priority", but not yet scheduled for a specific 7.x release (as we are still working on Tier 1 features): https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSPACE/DSpace+Release+7.0+Status#DSpaceRelease7.0Status-Tier2:Medium-HighPriority

If anyone is interested in seeing this feature released earlier in 7.x, we do welcome community contributions of code.  You can either create the code yourself, or hire a service provider to build it & contribute/donate on your behalf.  However, if you decide to work on this feature, I only ask that you let me know -- that way I can avoid any duplicative effort (i.e. we want to avoid two institutions working on the same feature separately...however, two institutions are welcome to collaborate)

Tim
