Hi,,
We are facing the same issue with DSpace 9. We tried them all, disconnect ORCID from the researcher profile, delete the profile, but removing the merge between the orcid account and dspace account is not possible to do. Does this sound like a bug in 9?

What is a working procedure to make dis-merging two accounts doable?

Thanks.

Hi,

Could you describe what you are trying to achieve by 'dis-merging' an account?   I'm not sure I understand what you mean by that phrase.

As of DSpace 9, it is possible to login via ORCID and *merge* your ORCID login into an existing EPerson account in DSpace.  If you do that, your EPerson account is then linked up to your ORCID login, and there's no way (that I'm aware of) to unmerge them from the user interface.   This is documented at https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSDOC9x/ORCID+Login:+Guide+to+Repository+access+and+Account+linking    So, I don't think this feature exists yet, but you are welcome to submit a request for this feature to our ticketing system (https://github.com/DSpace/dspace-angular/issues) and we can try to find a volunteer to claim it.

However, if you are talking about the "syncing" your Profile features that also exists with ORCID integration, then you *can* disconnect your local "Researcher Profile" page from ORCID by following the instructions at https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSDOC9x/ORCID+Integration#ORCIDIntegration-Connect/DisconnectthelocalprofiletoORCID
