New entities items not showing in Search & OAI

Hello all, I am having the following issues with DSpace Cris 7. Kind assistance will be appreciated:
1. When searching by title, author, issue date, and subject, there are no results for newly created entities.
2. Similarly, I keep getting "Error No Matches for the query" for the newly created entities from DSpace OAI-PMH records, whereas the default entities, i.e., publications, are returning results.
Do I need to modify any config files?
