Hello,

We have some records where the publication dates use slashes instead of dashes.  I.E. 10/12/1997 instead of 10-12-1997.  It would appear that this breaks the displayed date in the simple item view.  When using slashes, the simple item view only displays the first section of the date before the first slash, in this case "10".  I'm guessing that dspace does not support slashes inside the publication date? Though I just wanted to confirm that here.

Thanks,

Braxton,  I just tried it on Mirage2 for dspace 6.3 and the simple item view looked fine.  Having said that, Dspace for as long as I have known it, and this is from version 1.1, has used YYYY-MM-DD,  or YYYY-MM, or YYYY for date.issued.  When you use the UI to submit an item, it stores it in that format.  Because of this I would only ingest items that follow that format.

Hope this helps.
-Jose

Huh, odd that it does not truncate the date on your end.  Thank you for checking that on your end! I will see if converting the dates to YYYY-MM-DD does the trick.
