I want to grab ORCID and use it my item display template.

I found http://dspace.2283337.n4.nabble.com/exposing-author-s-ORCID-in-simple-item-view-td4685628.html and points to code at https://github.com/stfc/DSpace/commit/50c90c504463e0a9067797cbb7e3e8a77c75c2ca which I followed but the value @orcid_id is always blank even if I have an ORCID present in the record as I can see it in the metadata edit.

Has anyone managed to figure out this. I am using DSpace 6.3 and I have enabled ORCID integration.

Regards
Nason

Hi Nason,

You might want to check out this:

https://www.atmire.com/articles/detail/new-features-for-dspace-5-and-6-orcid-integration

https://atmire.github.io/expanded-ORCID-support/#/

I have implemented it in our dev environment and the ORCID icon is displayed with each author and links to their ORCID profile. There are other features in the patch as well, such as searching for ORCID ID. If you do decide to try the patch, please also review these issues:

https://github.com/atmire/expanded-ORCID-support/issues/3

https://jira.lyrasis.org/browse/DS-3999

When mixing these patches, the expanded ORCID support will override the fix for DS-3999.

Thank you Sean.

I have seen  https://www.atmire.com/articles/detail/new-features-for-dspace-5-and-6-orcid-integration  and tried to use it on my test system unfortunately I am getting  "error: unrecognized input" each time I run git command to apply the patch.

Regards
Nason
