Thumbnails not showing in browse list

hi all,

I'm running Dspace 6.3 and I have an item that  thumbnail is not showing in Browse list. However the thumbnail does appear correctly in Simple Item View.

This is a configuration parameter.  Make sure this is set to true in dspace.cfg

webui.browse.thumbnail.show = true

You can also control whether the thumbnail shows up on the item view page:

webui.item.thumbnail.show = true

hi Jose,

I have both set to True in the dspace.cfg file. It only happens on one record which uploaded with *.pptx  files. The rest are display correctly in the Browse list and simple item view.

any suggestion?

Hi Peter, For that record that has a pptx file, do you see a generic thumbnail, or do you see nothing?

I think if it can't create a thumbnail, then it puts up a generic thumbnail.  You can go to the item that has the pptx file and select "Edit Item" and see what it has for files.  If it creates a thumbnail it will show up in the files tab.  See if that can give you a clue as to what is happening.  It may be that for pptx, it can't create a thumbnail, or creates an empty file.

I checked in the "Edit Item". It does created a pptx.jpeg "IM thumbnail jpeg" file. And also shows up the image when I clicked "view"  under 
" Bundle: THUMBNAIL ". It shows up in Simple Item list just fine.

any thought?
