Issue Generating Item Template for a Collection in DSpace

I am facing an issue when trying to configure an Item Template for a collection in DSpace. When I try to edit the collection’s template and add metadata, no metadata list appears for me to choose from. This is preventing me from creating a template with default values for new items submitted to the collection.

I have checked my admin permissions and tried several approaches, but the metadata fields still do not appear for selection. The DSpace documentation mentions the use of Item Template to set default values that will be automatically applied to new items, but I couldn’t find any information on what might be causing the absence of the metadata list.

I would like to know if anyone in the community has encountered this issue or if there is any additional configuration needed, either in the dspace.cfg file or elsewhere in the system, to make the metadata fields show up when trying to configure the Item Template.

I've not yet heard of others encountering this issue.  But, it's always possible it's a new bug or a bug in whatever version of DSpace you are using.

One piece of advice I can offer is that you may want to use our Troubleshooting Guide to see if any (hidden) errors are occurring in the user interface or backend logs *when you create or save an Item Template*.  If an error is occurring, that may provide clues as to what might be going on.  https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSPACE/Troubleshoot+an+error#Troubleshootanerror-DSpace7.x(orabove)
