Customising Kubrick theme

Hello,
Im a novice dspace user . Im customising the Kubrick Theme on dspace 6.3. After making changes in the Kurick.xsl and messages.xml , I restarted the tomcat server. Im not able to see the changes. Am i missing some compiling procedure ? Do we need to rebuilt the dspace after making some changes in the theme ? If so what is the procedure.
Please guide me about theme customization and rebuilding .
