Dear DSpace Colleagues,

I am using JSPUI interface and received Google Analytics (GA) code, I have inserted it in DSpace1.8 dspace.cfg file and restarted tomcat.
I have went to GA where I have registered new account for dspace website and there is no statistics coming out even after waiting period of 48 hours. I have attached screenshot of GA code inserted in dspace.cfg, please share with me if there is any file that I should touch to make this work.

Regards,
Lewatle

Dear Lewatle,

to check whether you configuration made it to your deployed DSpace or not, a good test is the following:

(Chrome)
1. Right click any page of the repository in the browser
2. Click "Inspect" to bring up browser tools
3. Explore the script tags at the bottom of the page, and look for the "UA-" entry

ALTERNATIVE:
1. Right click any page of the repository in the browser
2. Click "View Page Source"
3. Scroll down or search on the page for "UA-"

If you're not getting any stats, two observations are very common:

1. There is no Google Analytics section in the script tags => this means the dspace configuration didn't pick up ANY google analytics key from the config
2. There IS a google analytics section in the script tags, but the key is different from the one you had in config => somehow your config is not getting deployed appropriately.

Screenshots attached to clarify this a bit. This might look a little bit different for DSpace 1.8, but the base principle should be the same.

Hope this helps !!!

Dear Bram,

I have done changes in config file directly from Installation directory that is deployed to tomcat and restarted tomcat without any redeployment, settings are not done from source config.

Lewatle

Hi Lewatle,

I'm sorry but without investigating this further on your actual machine, I don't think it is possible to debug this further.

best regards,

Bram
