Hello,
Does anyone know if there is a way to add 200 pdfs to 200 existing individual records?
I was thinking about creating new records that included the pdfs and suppressing the ones without them.
Are there drawbacks to that plan?
Thanks!

Hi

If the records exists,    probably you must consider using SIP imports via itemupdate

https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSDOC18/Updating+Items+via+Simple+Archive+Format    relates to and old version, but the command is alive at least at version 5

best luck

Emilio

Hi,

As Emilio points out, ItemUpdate -A (capitalized for add bitstreams) should work. As I recall, similar to building SIPs for legacy ItemImport except at minimum you only need the handle URL for the existing item in your dublin_core.xml and a contents file with the .pdf file name. Get the URL’s from your original saved ItemImport mapfile, if you have them. You could always create a couple of these SIPs by hand and test. Arguably preferable to suppressing the current records and you keep the existing handle URLs.
