All,
Sadly, I wanted to pass along news that Graham Triggs passed away on Tuesday, May 25th. This unfortunate news came via the
VIVO community (and via a family member on Facebook).
Those who have been in the DSpace community for a while will know Graham was a major contributor to making DSpace what it is today. He became a DSpace Committer back in 2007 and contributed heavily to improving the software until around 2011, when he moved
on to a new job/role. Even then, he kept his feet in open-source software & eventually made his way to the
VIVO community where he contributed until his passing.
Anyone who got to know Graham personally knows that he had a kind heart, a good sense of humor, and a passion for open-source software. He could be strong with his opinions at times, but it came from that deep caring. I know I had plenty of friendly technology
disagreements with Graham over many a beer, and we always seemed to come away with a shared solution that made DSpace better.
My condolences go out to Graham's family & friends worldwide. Graham, we all owe you a sincere debt of gratitude for all you gave to DSpace & open source in general. You were a good friend & you will be deeply missed.
Cheers to you Graham,
Tim
