Hi,
I was provided a DSpace instance with a URL "MySite", port number 90xy. The upload of content (metadata only) to that site was successful. But: using this site I only can find my uploads using handles, i.e. by searching for them in the "Documents" administration. There all metadata are available, and a URI to my document with the URI MySite:port10xyz. is provided. But that URI doesn't work - firefox is not able to access it. When I close the site with port:90xy, I see an error message saying that MySite:port10xyz could not be accessed. (But this is referred to as the base URL!)
I hope, anybody understands what I try to explain... Is it a problem of my Firefox/Chrome settings?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi Rufus,

It's a little hard to visualise the situation without some real examples of the URIs, error messages, etc..

To clarify:
1. In some examples you say "port 90xy", in others you say "port 90xyz" - are you distinguishing these as separate ports? If so, there might be a typo in your configuration making the handle base URL incorrect
2. If that's not the issue, then you could check to make sure there's not a problem elsewhere in the URL - eg the base URL isn't including an incorrect webapp name (eg. /xmlui/ or /jspui/ when they are actually running as the root / web app), and that the handle prefix (both the hostname portion and the prefix number itself) is correct

Cheers

Kim

Hi,

it is mySite.de:90xy. There I created communities and uploaded my metadata. However, I can't see my content. Searching for it via the "Documents" administration shows a list of metadata for each item, including an URI, mySite:10xy. So I'm directed to a different port, same site: mySite:10xy. Or should I better say: it tries to direct me to that port, as I only get that error message saying that Firefox is not able to connect to that site.
Unfortunately, I can't provide any screenshots, as now the server of that site is down due to maintenance. Well, maybe things get better after that server is running again.
My question was that I was being directed to another port, that doesn't work.

Thanks for answering
Rufus
