Hello,
How do I add an external URL that links to a collection elsewhere within a DSpace collection? I'd like it to be hyperlinked so that users can follow it to an external collection.
Thanks so much.

Hi Andrea,

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking for, but you can add a URL to a collection description in DSpace (which could be followed to reach another DSpace collection or any external website). On the Edit Community or Edit Collection page, in the Introductory Text (HTML) box, you can add HTML including links. The structure for links is:
<a href="Your URL Here">Your Link Text Here</a>

e.g., <a href="https://library.bennington.edu/">Crossett Library</a>

The link text ("Crossett Library" in the example above) will be hyperlinked. For more details, see DSpace documentation on Simple HTML Fragment Markup (this is for DSpace 7.x and explains what HTML elements can be used), or HTML Tutorial - W3Schools for basics on HTML.

If this isn't what you're looking for, please respond to the group with more details about your question.

Laura
