Dear colleagues,

Has anyone used/thinking about using DSpace 7 as a multitenant repository solution?

This question comes from the National Science Foundation in Sri Lanka - they would like to use DSpace 7 as a multitenant solution for the national network of repositories to minimize the hardware and system resources utilization.

Thank you and have a good day!
Best wishes,
Iryna

The first question I would ask is: how do they define "multitenant"?

The Community container enables the sharing of a single instance of
DSpace among groups who should not share control of each others'
assets, and who may wish to have distinct logos or themes, submission
forms and vocabularies, etc. for their materials.

Alternatively, here we run three instances of DSpace, embodying three
distinct repositories, in one Tomcat instance on one host. This
implements a complete isolation of distinct lower-traffic repositories
without duplication of equipment.

What are their requirements for multi-tenancy?

Dear Iryna and Mark,
If they want to have different domain names for the DSpace instances in one server using one public IP then running multiple instances of DSpace using one tomcat servlet would be a good idea.
