Need help regarding Dspace usage reports and statistics

Hello

Hope all are doing good.

We have an installation of Dspace 7.6.1 and wanted to configure reports and statistics.

Referred Dspace documents (https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSDOC7x/SOLR+Statistics)  but did not understand much. Is there any simple way to get the reports such as users' logging information, how many downloads he/she has done, how many books he/she have viewed etc.

I am able to get simple statistics but it just displays number of views only.

Any help or guidance is highly appreciated.

Hi Ravi,

At this time, DSpace's Statistics are very limited. DSpace can only display the number of views (as you have stated).  It's currently not easy to implement custom reports or log additional information.   This has been an ongoing topic for a very long time, and unfortunately we've not yet had a volunteer step forward to help us enhance the DSpace statistical reporting options.  A number of similar ideas have made there way into tickets over the years: https://github.com/DSpace/DSpace/labels/component%3A%20statistics

Overall, unfortunately this isn't an easily solvable problem as it require development work.  I would recommend considering using Google Analytics integration if you need more detailed reports.  If you cannot use Google Analytics, I'm also hopeful someone will help us look at integrating Matomo soon via https://github.com/DSpace/DSpace/issues/8414
