Strange behavior on DSpace 8 with self registration on duplicate email address

DSpace 8 seems to allow registration using same email without the prompt that you are registered and second issue, it doesn't seem to send subscription emails to the registered users.

Any idea?

Hi Nason,

If you are already registered in DSpace 8 or 9, then you should get a "Change Password" email sent to you if you attempt to register again.  You will *not* see an error in the user interface for privacy reasons -- as the system is not revealing you are already registered.

Subscription emails are sent out on a regular basis, but *only* if you've configured the "subscription-send" script to run regularly.  See the documentation: https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSDOC7x/Email+Subscriptions#EmailSubscriptions-Enablesendingoutemails   This "subscription-send" script allows you to more easily configure the schedule that you want subscriptions to be sent out.
