Hello!

Is the Media Viewer limited to 20 items/bitstreams? I added 20+ images, but when browsing them in the Media Viewer, the 'Next' button gets disabled after the 20th item.

Hi Meelis,

If there is such a limitation, we're unaware of it (at least I am).  If you are able to reliably reproduce this in your local DSpace 8 site, you might also try to see if it's reproducible on our demo site at https://demo.dspace.org. (This site is running DSpace 9, but I don't believe the media viewer has changed between 8 and 9.)  If it's also reproducible there, please report a bug ticket to https://github.com/DSpace/dspace-angular/issues  It'd be important to note which web browser you are using, because there's always the chance an issue could be specific a particular web browser.

Thanks,
Tim

Hi Tim,

I created a test item here: https://demo.dspace.org/entities/publication/315f9c75-0a10-42de-bbcc-62384f5292e9.

The same problem still exists in DSpace 9 — I added 30 images, but when browsing with the Media Viewer, the “Next” button gets disabled after the 20th image.

If you can confirm this behavior, I’ll go ahead and open an issue on GitHub.

Thanks,
Meelis

Hi Meelis,

Yes, it's occurring on my end in a Chrome browser too.  So, please do create a ticket in https://github.com/DSpace/dspace-angular/issues.  I don't believe this behavior is intentional.

Thanks for the proof-of-concept on the demo site!  Generally speaking, if you can reproduce an issue on the demo site, it's almost certainly a bug -- so you can feel safe in creating a ticket immediately.  (If somehow we find it was a misconfiguration of demo or something else, we'll let you know, but usually that doesn't happen)

Tim
