Hello,
if I understand you correctly you want to set relations between
imported publications and authors (researcher profiles)
automatically, right?
The way relations are built is different between DSpace and
DSpace CRIS and as far as I know, this can affect the import. I
can only describe things from the DSpace-CRIS perspective, as I am
a lot more familiar with that. You have many options to import
publications and DSpace-CRIS has some special options in that
context, which are probably not available in plain DSpace. So, it
is important to know, which platform you are using to give you
hints how to import publications and set relations to the authors
automatically.
In DSpace-CRIS you can use (for example) the bulk import tool, which uses Excelfiles to import contents (described in DSpace-CRIS documentation https://github.com/4Science/DSpace/releases/download/dspace-cris-2023.02.03/dspace-cris-2023.02.03.pdf on pages 108ff). In that format you can set authors and relations to their RP.
In plain DSpace, to be honest, I don't know, if it is possible to
set the relations for imports. I would recommend to have a look
into the DSpace documentation on the Lyrasis Wiki
https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSDOC7x in the section how to
ingest or import content (unfortunately I do not have a direct
link at the moment, as the Lyrasis Wiki has apparently some
trouble).
Best regards
Oliver
