Next meeting

Hello All,

I forgot to book the room for Monday, and it is now unavailable. We can meet on Zoom only or in person at the library if folks are willing to meet earlier. The room is available all day up until 5:45. I don't have any agenda items aside from the usual how should we reach out to people. We still have the opportunity to table at the farmer's market. Do any of you have topics you'd like to cover? Would anybody like to become the chair for this group?

Is the next meeting on Monday Aug. 10?  Or another Monday?

I'm happy to meet via zoom, or I can offer my house (on Spencer Ave, two resident cats and up a flight of stairs).  

One question I had for the agenda was, are we doing all of the regular monthly DSNC meeting outreach?  Flyers?  The sign on Middlesex Bank?  I think I remembers someone saying they were doing the flyering on bulletin boards, but I couldn't remember if it was regularly, and I couldn't remember if someone was contacting the bank.

Yes, second Monday is our meeting schedule. I would go to your home if others will. That is very generous. What do others say?

 I had been doing the meeting flyers but did not last month because I hurt my foot and was trying to limit my walking around. I will be happy if someone wants to help with that task. I also forget who is contacting the bank guy. These are good agenda items.

+1; I think it would be great if we had some central place where responsibilities are documented (which could just be a central doc in the committee's GDrive folder).  I know we had a meeting where we assigned various responsibilities, but I don't think a lot of that got documented outside that meeting's notes (or if it did, I am struggling to find it right now).

Hi Marilyn,

I have two proposed agenda items for tonight's meeting:

1) The board has discussed a desire to thank our corporate partners more publicly -- to show our appreciation, foster local relationships, and to support small businesses. One way we could do that is on social media. I suggest having a template image that allows us to easily swap out logos / photos and accompanying text. I've attached a mockup here, but am not beholden to this format. In this series (perhaps weekly) it would be good to thank: Saccos, Crystal Ballroom, Rockwell, Community Baptist Church, Davis Squared (Paul did a fundraiser for us on ArtBeat day), and Art's Creamery. Others?

2) The Programs Committee still needs to work out the logistics, but I'm hoping we can hold a Davis-wide community yard sale this fall. If this works out, we should think about how the Outreach Committee can promote this -- both to households who might want to sign up and to the larger community beyond Davis to attract shoppers.

This is what the DSNC Publicity Checklist doc was intended to do. I don't mind if people choose a different central location, but that happens, the Publicity Checklist doc should be updated to point at the other one.

These all look fine to me. I think I saw a photo somewhere from last year's Flatbread event. I will try to find it.

Marilyn - thanks for the recommendation that the Flatbread page2 include a photo of our community. I've swapped in a replacement image from the party (at the same link). I made sure to pick one with the kids' backs to the camera, since some parents are sensitive to their children being posted. 

Plus, at Paul's suggestion, I also added a library appreciation post since we use the conference room so often. David - the committee photo you sent was useful for this one! Thanks.

All of the content has been uploaded to the Google Drive and to Zachary's social media request form. I requested dates for the campaign to be rolled out weekly from now through the end of October.
