Hi Frank,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to seek your assistance regarding an issue I encountered while using DSI Studio (version: [macos14]).

When I attempt to export a 3D rendered image that includes both the transparent brain surface and highlighted JHU atlas regions (via “Region Rendering”), the resulting file only shows the brain surface without the labeled regions. I have ensured that the relevant rendering options are all enabled (e.g., Region Rendering, Surface Rendering, and Tract Rendering), and I have tried the “Export > Save 3D Model / Surface” options. However, the exported image still does not match the rendered view in the main window.

I would greatly appreciate it if you could advise me on the proper method to export the currently rendered scene as a high-quality static image that includes the regions of interest. Alternatively, if there are any known limitations or specific settings required for proper export, I would be grateful for your guidance.

Thank you very much for your time and support, and for developing such a powerful and user-friendly tool. I look forward to your advice.

Warm regards,

The transparent visualization requires special settings/rendering on the 3D engine. DSI Studio outputs the meshes, and the software needs to take over the rendering task to make it transparent.
DSI Studio cannot control how other software visualizes the surfaces.
Best regards,
Frank
