Dear Frank,

May I ask what's the criteria to mark "bad slice" in DSI-studio?
Is the low SNR? Thank you.

Best regards,
Ziqi

Low correlation with the neighboring slices.

Dear Frank,

I'm checking the data acquired on our site. I found that if I click on "Sort b-table", the reported bad slices are less than the original order. The data was acquired with b-value interleaved: 1000, 2000, 1000, 2000...
I'm wondering whether the correlation is also based on neighbouring volumes.
Thank you for your time. Any help is much appreciated.

Best regards,
Ziqi

Thanks for reporting this problem. The bad slices function will be revised soon.
Oftentimes we use only the neighboring DWI correlation (NDC).

Best regards,
Frank

Dear Frank,

May I ask what is the mathematical formula for marking "bad slices" in DSI-Studio with a low correlation with the neighboring slices?

Best,
Rexy

Hi Rexy,

Sorry I don't have the math formula because the code may be
changed in the future. The idea behind is calculating the correlation
with neighboring slices.
You may find details from the code at
https://github.com/frankyeh/DSI-Studio/blob/9b2283b0d0635df33cff3deff901818117e8e532/libs/dsi/image_model.cpp#L339

Best regards,
Frank
