GPU acceleration

How can I tell if te gpu is being utilized?  I downloaded the gpu version of dsi studio; installed CUDA and tested it with the sample queries.   In HTOP I can see the gpu is listed as "compute".  However in NVTOP when dsi studio is running, there doesn't seem to be much use.

DSI Studio only uses the GPU for image registration, normalization, and segmentation.
