Hi,

During druid.io work I found out that log files which located in /druid_dir/var/sv/ takes gigabytes of space.

To fix this problem I want to set log level to ERROR

I put in common.runtime.properties

druid.emitter.logging.logLevel=error

and in log4j2.xml:

Configuration status="ERROR"

but .log files still grow to huge sizes (and includes INFO messages).

What else should be added to the config?

Thanks!

The root logger level in log4j2.xml is the one you want to modify. You can also periodically truncate the log files to manage their sizes.

Hi Gian,

I already modified ~/imply_dir/conf/druid/_common/log4j2.xml
The content of the file:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
<Configuration status="ERROR">

<Appenders>

<Console name="Console" target="SYSTEM_OUT">

<PatternLayout pattern="%d{ISO8601} %p [%t] %c - %m%n"/>

</Console>

</Appenders>

<Loggers>

<Root level="info">

<AppenderRef ref="Console"/>

</Root>

</Loggers>
</Configuration>

But Druid still puts in log files INFO messages

The <Root level="info"> (root logger level) is the line that matters.

Hi,
Logger continues to write messages to a file..
Especially coordinator.log

20 GB per day.

My actual log4j2.xml:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
<Configuration status="ERROR">

<Appenders>

<Console name="Console" target="SYSTEM_OUT">

<PatternLayout pattern="%d{ISO8601} %p [%t] %c - %m%n"/>

</Console>

</Appenders>

<Loggers>

<Root level="error">

<AppenderRef ref="Console"/>

</Root>

</Loggers>
</Configuration>

Any ideas?

All works,
the reason: log4j2.xml swapped from another conf dir (conf, conf-quickstart).

Thanks!
