Hi everyone,

I want to use a connection pool in my dropwizard application and I want to know the best practices to do it. Is better to use and external library as Hikari or there's someone embedded? I have to initialize the cp in the run method or where?

Thanks,

Gilberto

The previous version of Dropwizard use the Tomcat connection pool. I saw an article speaking about switching from Tomcat to Hikari, that presents a lot of trouble including another cp in the application https://nbsoftsolutions.com/blog/the-difficulty-of-performance-evaluation-of-hikaricp-in-dropwizard. Since HikariCP performances are better than Tomcat one, is it possibile to eliminate Tomcat cp from the core without any problem?
