[ANN] Dropwizard 2.0.0 has been released

Hi everyone,

in the name of the Dropwizard committers, I'm happy to announce that we've finally released Dropwizard 2.0.0!

Please find the release notes on GitHub at [1] and the upgrade notes/migration guide at [2].

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this release by creating PRs, filing issues on GitHub, or simply using and supporting Dropwizard!

Congratulations!

We've already managed to make our code compile and unit-test with the new version!

But servers won't start, because we're using Google Guice for DI framework, and the dropwizard-guicier project is not updated yet (doubt if it is going to be updated).

If someone is also running with Guice and has already found a solution to run it with DW 2.0.0, we'd love to hear!

A great day, which we were waiting for a long time.

You can try https://github.com/xvik/dropwizard-guicey. 

Dropwizard 2.0.0 compatible release candidate is already available and the final release will appear in a couple of days.

Hello,

Not sure, but your servers did not seem to start. was that related to the @Inject failing or did you use another dependency injection?

Do you use still dependency injection (dropwizard-guicy) or somthing else?

It sounded as I ran into similar problems and are curious of your solution.

We discarded the dropwizard-guicier and moved to https://github.com/xvik/dropwizard-guicey.

The change was rather smooth and simple.
