KieServer 7.72 instance on a docker Liberty v24 with Java 11 not connecting to external BusinessCentral

Hi Team,

We are trying to migrate our enviornment to a RedHat Openshift platform.

So we deployed our existing KieServer 7.72 on the OCP docker platform with Liberty v24 having java 11 image. Its deployed successfully in the OCP environment.

But the problem is the OCP KieServer 7.72 instance is not connecting to external Business central which is hosted in another independent Jboss server but on the same network.

Also not seeing any errors in the log.

So not sure what the problem is and also only difference in OCP environment is KieServer location URL is always hosted as https and not http.

I mean the location URL :=  http://<hostname><port>/kie-server/services/rest/server.

Any pointers will be helpful.

Hi Suresh,

A few things to check that might help narrow down the issue:

• Are you able to interact with the deployed KIE Server REST endpoints directly? Try hitting the /kie-server/services/rest/server endpoint from within the OCP environment to confirm the server itself is responding.
  
• Is the endpoint really "http" and not "https"? You mentioned the location URL is always hosted as https in OCP, so double-check that the KIE Server controller properties are configured to use the correct protocol.
  
• Did you properly set up the KIE Server controller properties? Specifically, verify that org.kie.server.controller and org.kie.server.controller.user/org.kie.server.controller.pwd are correctly pointing to your external Business Central instance with the right credentials.
  

It's hard to know for sure what might be happening without looking at the configuration directly and without seeing logs. If you're not seeing any errors, you might want to enable debug logging for the KIE Server components to get more visibility into what's happening during the connection attempt.

Hi Alex,

Thanks for the response.

I am now able to get it sorted out and the issue was related to the UserId that I was using was not having the kie-server role.

Also now, I have another question since our KieServer is sitting in the OCP environment and Business Central on the on-prem independent server. The custom maven settings that we have done for the deployments of KJAR projects are not working.

How can I make the maven settings configured on the OCP Docker PODS of KieServer ?

Any directions from you will be greatly appreciated.
