Hello all!
As you all know, since lockdown, Dragons on the Hill real life meet ups have been suspended, but now that the world is officially back open for business again we have been working to bring the club back to a new venue, and hopefully some new faces too!
We will be holding our Dragons on the Hill grand reopening on the 7th September 2022, and we will be offering some free food and giving away 10 free dice sets (with complimentary velvet bag), 1 for anyone who rolls a critical success (or equivalent) on the night! (1 prize per person, sorry!).
If you are a GM looking to run a game or a player looking for a group, please contact me and we will do our best to put some groups together for the night.
Alternatively, if you want to pop along and take your chances please do.

Sorry for the relative radio silence. I am probably to blame but COVID was rubish and I had a slight accident which knocked back these plans. Excuses over insert attention grabbing emojis here.

Our new venue is the downstairs bar at Loves Company (Unit 1, Imperial Hall, 104-122 City Rd, London EC1V 2NR). This is almost next to Old Street station.
Inaugural meet up is planned for 07 September 2022 from 1900 (7pm). Some of us are clubbing together to put on a limited buffet. There will also be some giveaways!
Hope to see as many of you as possible even if it is only to say hello!
Key points are we have avoided any sort of fee but please buy drinks at the venue (if everyone buys just one it should keep them on side for the foreseeable future.

Further details/comments:
This is a little bit of a change for us but this venue has some really good qualities which despite looking at a number of other venues we have gone with this one.
There will not be a fee but please purchase drinks from the venue the happy hour lasts longer than an hour and represents good value (for London).
The good points:
· There are already 5 good size tables which we are allowed to moves to make sure we are not on top of each other.
· The space is can well lit (images online look a bit dark but more lights can eb turned on for on needs)
· The management are really positive about us joining the list of events that take place there.
· We are not being held to a formal minimum spend but they will be reviewing to make sure its profitable form them. So please buy drinks at the venue.
· It is less then a 2 min walk to the station.
The less positive points:
· They do not do food, however we are allowed to bring our own as long as we clear away after ourselves and don’t bring our own drinks.
· We are not planning to request they staff the downstairs bar which mean you will need to pop upstairs for drinks. It is an insignificant distance and means we as a groups are more profitable for the venue.
Finding a venue has been harder than I anticipated. Almost all pubs want a minimum spend north of £500 which we cannot commit to. Almost all the venues we have talked to had to refer any decision back to a central office which has been a layer of delay and has limited the flexibility of some managers. The pizza express we used to use is now a massively popular restaurant which was heaving when we popped in to check it out again. Other venues we were recommended were not central enough.
