Building surveys

I'm in the process of buying a house and need to get a survey done.
Does anyone have someone they'd recommend for it?
(The last survey I got done was (a) 25 years ago, (b) in Cambridge, and
(c) not much use :-D)

Thanks for that. I've got the conveyancing sorted, I think. Might be back bothering folk for electrician and/or central heating (ideally air-source heat pump) installers in a while, assuming the survey comes back okay :-D
