Hi all,

I don't know whether this would be of interest to anyone, but figured this would be the best place to share it. If there's one thing I know, it's that DoES is affiliated with a lot of SMEs that use technology, and would quite happily accept a £10k grant!

Thanks,

Sean

Hello,

I hope you are well.

I am getting in touch on behalf of Piers Linney - SME advocate and former Dragons' Den judge - who is visiting Liverpool on 4th November. I wondered if you would be interested in supporting his visit and arranging for him to meet with some of your network while he is there?

Piers’ 10 day tour will see him visit 10 cities engaging with regional communities, business owners and entrepreneurs. In each stop, Piers will run a ‘business clinic’, working with a few local SMEs to share advice and help provide support for day to day issues they are facing. With economic recovery only just beginning, ensuring support for businesses and championing SMEs is of vital importance.

As part of this support, Piers is offering a grant of £10,000 to a small business who can demonstrate their innovation and use of technology to survive and thrive through the pandemic and beyond.

Piers is particularly interested in businesses at the smaller end of the SME scale – those who would most benefit from his help.

Piers is at the heart of the small business community in Britain and has been a campaigning voice for small businesses that withstood the worst of the lockdown. He is a passionate advocate for the millions of small business owners nationwide that are the backbone of the economy but routinely overlooked.

Please let me know if you would like any more information or would like to set up a call to discuss further and I would be happy to arrange.

Best wishes,

Lara

Sounds great, will he come to visit ?

I'd suggest that the visor project, using our tech to help out uk.plc (particularly the NHS) during the pandemic (and wearing some of it out), together with the support to locals (from hobbyists to startups) provided by the co-working space, workshop access and the free facilities on maker nights/days would be a good "pitch".

This is happening next Thursday 4th November, more information follows:

We would like to invite you to a small event with Piers Linney, SME advocate and former Dragons' Den judge with us at DoES in Liverpool on 4 November to discuss your business and any challenges you are currently facing.

Piers is travelling around the UK as part of a 10 day tour to engage with small business owners and entrepreneurs.

This is directed particularly at small businesses with less than 10 employees and working in sectors or businesses where the use of technology is less common.

Piers is at the heart of the small business community in Britain and has been a campaigning voice for small businesses that withstood the worst of the lockdown. He is a passionate advocate for the millions of small business owners nationwide that are the backbone of the economy but routinely overlooked.

If youre interested in coming along please email me direct (john@does) and I’ll forward your details on to the people arranging this.
