HI

A few weeks ago we had a chat with Luke about the workshop at 9 Oldham Place (by Zap Graffiti) which he shares with Arthur and a couple of others. They've just renewed their lease and have big plans to renovate the building and introduce new facilities.

They're keen to look at ways that we can cooperate (fits in well with the discussion at the FutureGazing evening last week), e.g. by having a mutual membership scheme so that we could use each others facilities without paying.

This might make a lot of sense, especially to people who want to use heavier machinery and welding equipment that we can't have in the Tapestry due to fire risk and space issues.

DoES Liverpool directors took a look round a few weeks ago and we'd like to know what other people think.

Arthur is happy to open up from  6pm on Wednesday 24th August for anyone who'd like to drop in and take a look round. Please tell us if you're interested, or if we need to organise an alternative date.

Thanks

Accessibility:
There is a steep and roughly cobbled road leading down to the workshop entrance which could be an issue for wheelchair users and others (it might be possible to avoid this by getting dropped off and picked up by car at the entrance). A few areas in the workshop aren't easily accessible to wheelchair users.

Sounds a bit like my cellar, but I'd welcome a look around too.

I’m interested in this visit as well. I am having a new broadband fitted that day though, so depending on when the engineer arrives may mean I will be on site a little later.

All the best

Hi

Seems like we've got several people who want to take a look at the workshop at 9 Oldham Place this evening (if you haven't commented here, you can still come down!).

I've taken a look at Google Maps, and although the workshop is down a side street, it shouldn't be too difficult to find that way (it's in the same building as Zap Graffiti). If you're still not sure, then come down to DoES Liverpool before 6pm, and we can walk down together.

There should be a few people there to show us round, including Cedric who's been using the welding equipment to make a solar powered trailer for his bike.
