Hi Zafar,

There can be such judgements. But if we raise such concern and raise our voice with school, I have seen its working. If they allow hiking fee at 15% every year, it will take very less time to reach more then Rs 1 lac. I have seen latest GR and it says fee can be hiked once in 2 year. Also PTA should approve fee hike. They are taking benefit of non formation of revision committee in getting such judgement. If we don't raise our voice it makes them feel that we agree and they will take us for granted.

After all end of the day we want affordable good quality education and trust me paying 1 lac for 1 kid(and if you have two) the it wont be a easy affair.

One of the important issue is fee hike. They are hiking 10 % fee every year, which is not allowed as per Maharashtra government GR regarding fee regulation. As per rule fee hike should be discussed and agreed with PTA before implementation. Point for meeting
1. School fees - yearly increase in fee. Why do school takes fees on 2 instalments. Can it be quarterly?
2. Why E- learning fees separate and also each year charged ₹2000/-.
3. Why school books cost are too high when same books price are less.  Can we buy books directly from shops.
4. Safety and security- what are the persuasion for safety and security. Can school provide audit report for it.
5. Do school have any Medical emergency plan for school.
6. Does the canteen facility given in school are authorized and have any license.
7. For quality of education: What are the criteria for selection of teachers. Can school provide details of teachers education.
8. School bus charges also increases every year, what about GPRS tracking system in bus. Do school bus have speed governor. Any audit report for it.

This are some points and some documents need to ask from school management.
Kindly consider if possible.

E learning fees need not to be paid every year.

We have last to last year, last year and will be paying for next year ?

English Lab ? do we need English lab in English school ?

its simple school has to justify or cancel the fees.

I am sure any of us not against of paying fees but that has to be as per Ministry of Education and as per law..isn't it ?

also lets not forget every school has draw backs and advantages .......you just can not go on shifting from one school to another school.

DAV and NH was in news 8 month back for quality of education and fee hikes

Hi All,

Trying to revive old thread. Recently in PTI it is announced that there will be a fee hike(approx 50% from current year). They suggested that the fee is high because book, uniform all will be covered in it. They will also give food items to child so that there is no need to bring Tiffin. Such a fee hike is not justifiable and not allowed as per Maharastra school regulation. As per the regulation schools are allowed to hike fees only once in two years.But they are hiking it every year(even last year hike was more then 10%). Also school should take consent from PTA 6 months in advance as per the rule. My daughter is studying in NHS and we had similar situation few year back. We all parent protested and were able to stop such fee hike.

Should we start with the similar protest and push Dutta Meghe management to stop hiking fee?
