I was wondering if there were any plans to change the email validation to support unicode characters as per https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc6531 and https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc5890

Hi Zac,
There's a ticket and a pull request suggesting to improve the actual email validation based on RFCs.
