Absolute beginner, missing icons on admin page

to Django users

I'm just working through the tutorials right now and noticed that my admin page is missing some of the icons (add, change, calender) that are in the tutorial. Looking through the HTML, these icons don't even seem to exist. Am I doing something wrong?
