Hello everyone,

I want to organize the first "djangocon Costa Rica" next year, I know it's too soon to speak about this but it's the first time here and it's very important to do it well, so the community and I are planning to start the coordination of the event, we are looking for place and sponsors and of course your advice.

We know that in this list are people that coordinate the event in his country and probably you have suggestions for us.
We are looking for promotional material too and something like that, we follow the principe of DRY so if you have material that we can modify to adapt our purpose, please contact me privately.

Thank you and any advice are welcome.

Hi Luiz,

Great to hear that there's a vibrant community in Costa Rica, and enough enthusiasm to take on the task of organising a conference! I wish you the best of luck!

One word of caution, though - the name "DjangoCon Costa Rica" is off limits. Under the terms of the Django Trademark license [1], the name DjangoCon is reserved for use by the Django Software Foundation. You're free to choose another name with "Django" in it (within some boundaries) - but even then there are some conditions you need to be aware of.

If you're coming to DjangoCon US in a couple of weeks, make yourself known to me and I'll introduce you to the team organising that event - I'm sure they'll have plenty of advice, and maybe even some resources to share.

If you've got any questions about the naming, or if there's anything the DSF can do to help, let me know.

Yours,
Russ Magee %-)

I think in two possibilities:
    1) Request permission to use the DjangoCon name to the DSF.  ¿How can do that?
"The only exception to this is the name "DjangoCon", which must not be used without the permission of the DSF;"
    2) Change the name to Spanish name like "Conferencias Django" (Django conference), "Campamento Django" (Django Camp), "Django para la gente" (Django for people) or something more creative.

I would like to use "DjangoCon" because it's easy to find sponsors if it is an international event or a renowned event so I am interested in request permission, of course following the rules and conditions that have the DSF and with strict vigilance of you.

Sorry, I can't go this year :(.

Thank you.
