Is it possible to connect django to apache derby as a database?

I am a newbie about Django and Python. But I attended the basic lecture of python. So I will implement my web application.

I want to use apache derby. Is is possible? I am proud of being one of member in this group. Thanks.

If it speaks SQL you can just write your own backend for it, but that is probably a bit of work.
