+1 to what Jorge mentioned. You can find books online but most of them (the ones I found) cover up till Django 1.6 and if you wanna use Django 1.7, some things won't apply. For example, things like South is already integrated into Django 1.7.

Clarifying an important misconception here - South *has not* been integrated into Django's core. 

Django 1.7 includes a migration framework that is similar to, but very distinct from South.

After you go through the django tutorial (really the best place to start), check out Two Scoops of Django (book). I think it is only up to version 1.6, so some things may have changed or look a little different.
