I don't believe it is documented that it supports these:
[https://docs.djangoproject.com/en/5.1/ref/contrib/gis/gdal/#spatialreference
SpatialReference]. So I feel this is a feature request to extend support.

The recommended path forward when requesting features is to first propose
and discuss the idea with the community and gain consensus that this is a
desired change. To do that, please consider starting a new conversation on

you'll reach a broader audience and receive additional feedback.
