#35908: Retire django-developers and django-users mailing list
-------------------------------------+-------------------------------------
Reporter: Thibaud Colas | Type:
| Cleanup/optimization
Status: new | Component:
| Documentation
Version: 5.1 | Severity: Normal
Keywords: community, docs, | Triage Stage:
support, onboarding | Unreviewed
Has patch: 0 | Needs documentation: 0
Needs tests: 0 | Patch needs improvement: 0
Easy pickings: 0 | UI/UX: 0
-------------------------------------+-------------------------------------
Following the forum thread ([https://forum.djangoproject.com/t/proposal- retiring-django-users-and-django-developers-mailing-lists/35747 Proposal:
retiring django-users and django-developers mailing lists]), we can now
move ahead with updating the developer documentation to remove or
contextualize references to the django-developers and django-users mailing
list.
There is a lot of content that needs removing, but in some cases it might
make sense to replace the references to those mailing lists with a link to
the Django Forum, or specific forum categories. Also worth noting the
django-announce and django-updates mailing list are staying as-is.
- Keep the rst_epilog references in the Sphinx config for now
- Keep any references to the mailing lists in historical docs (for example
old release notes)
