If so, perhaps updating the `README.rst` file in the root of the project
to make mention of these resources (as opposed to only mentioning the
mailing list and IRC channel at present) would be appropriate?

We can add Django Discord channel and the Django Forum to the README, but
I don't see a reason to remove the IRC channel or the mailing list, see

For the future, such small cleanup doesn't require tickets.
