Hi,

Demo site dashboard is not reachable. The link from your homepage http://demo.oscarcommerce.com/ is 404.

From there, I really would like to see the dashboard, so I go to http://latest.oscarcommerce.com/en-gb/gateway/ and give my email (tried two times with two different mails).
Each time I fill my email and send the form, it says that an email has been sent to me, with information to access dashboard.
But I never received any expected mail.

Then I tried to register with the register form (http://latest.oscarcommerce.com/en-gb/accounts/login/). But it doesn't give me any access to the dashboard.
And if I try again to give my email on http://latest.oscarcommerce.com/en-gb/gateway/, it says that the account already exist.

Are you aware of that bug ?
What can I do ?

Thank you
Regards

Hey Matthieu,

AFAIK, the demo site has never exposed access to the dashboard. I believe the purpose of the demo site it so people can browse the front end, not the backend.

If you want to try the dashboard, you should try out the sandbox - setting it up is pretty straightforward.

Hey William,

Thank you for your rapid answer. Maybe you should change the homepage of this demo site, which explicitly offers to visit the dashboard.

If as you say, it has never been exposed, I guess that this problem happened to many people.
Because I guess that, when a user see "You can get access to the dashboard using this form.", he will assume that he can get access to the dashboard using this form.

Unfortunately I can't change it - I'm just a lowly (albeit interested) user, I don't run the demo sites ;-)

But you're actually right - the "latest" site does explicitly state that users ought to be able to access the dashboard...hmmm.

Again, unfortunately, it seems the demo site has been down for ages, and the latest site is also not getting much love lately. Perhaps someone at Tangent Snowball ought to decide whether they want this project to be properly maintained going forward...

If you're willing to invest a few minutes and you've got a unixy command line, it *is* quite straightforward to get the sandbox site running locally.
