Hello everyone.
I am not sure this has been addressed before but my first search returned nothing.

I am trying to study albumin adhesion on microstructured polymers and I would like to know how to observe it. Basically, I have etched micropatterns at the surface of polymers and used low-cost Svelty (30% milk protein) to attach the protein on the sample.
I would like to know if someone could recommend a procedure to wash it and observe the layer afterwards.

I am a complete newbie. Thanks for your help!

Does your polymer surface stain with iodine? Because that's the quick
and dirty way to stain protein, so you could use a dilute iodine wash to
stain adhered protein and visualise it that way.

Hi Cathal.

Thanks for your answer. It's actually a very good idea.
Any recommendation on how to deposit the protein and wash it without removing it from all the surface? I'm trying to look at adhesion spots only and will use protein-rich milk powder.

Thanks again!
Cheers

soaking with dH2O or buffer after binding should work, might add some
detergent depending on how high your background signal is... or soak
while in a shaker incubator.
