Hi all! I recently read an academic paper on an awesome success that scientists had in turning fibroblasts into cardiomyocyte cells. I was blown away at the possibilities in terms of getting a source of heart cells to potentially treat heart attack patients and it got me thinking about other diseases (such as with the liver or kidney).

It looks like another study used transcription factors to turn fibroblasts into neural cells. My question to you all is this: if I wanted to experiment with this kind of thing myself, do you know where I could find a list of the transcription factors that lead to various cell types? I apologize for the openness of the question. I'm only a few semesters into a biology degree so I'm afraid I can't be any more precise in the language of my request. I'd love to get a conversation going about this!
