Amazing discovery announced in the news this week, I was surprised to see a lack of biosafety in the news video, with locals and photographers trampling about all throughout the newly opened tomb (probably also touching everything in sight, purposely or accidentally), essentially obscuring any attempts at microbial or DNA archeology.  Sample the 4000+ old bacterial remnants, anyone?  Get on a plane to Egypt quickly, perhaps?   Do archeologists today still not attempt to shield from biocontamination?   NASA has full protocols for this, in comparison, both to and from ancient rocks in space.
