I initially read "Bacteria of the Mouth" as "Bacteria of the Month".   I pictured a little gift basket covered with colored cellophane and culture tubes inside.

errr, 6 * $3 = $18... so 5X the cost. 2X markup seems about right for
something this scale, aimed at Citizen/DIY science.

How many Microbio kits do you plan on cooking and boxing up for $25k?

$100 seems about 2X the cost if you just bought agar plates from

Carolina. 6 'experiments' in packs of 10 @ ~$30/each is under $0.5k.
Seems like all the reagents would be well under the current amount
raised of ~$3k (maybe even less than $1k).
