Does the 'assistant' only record audio, and then transcribe it later?
Are you using Mozilla DeepSpeech? Is your platform open, extendable?
Personally transcription seems unrelated to being a lab assistant, and
more general software. Transcribing technical jargon will be just as
challenging in any field, not just lab work.
For a digital lab 'assistant', personally I'd like to see the Google
Glass Enterprise Edition paired with some decent google search
features, including hands-free browsing integration and
text-to-speech. Too often we need to perform simply lookups online
"what is the recipe for X" or perform some calculation "5 grams of HCL
to moles". These are things Google or WolframAlpha already does well,
but Google Glass has gone commercial-only and hands-free is still
apparently a pipe-dream for the rest of us.
