Hi all,

The White House is hosting a Maker Faire this summer and there is an opportunity to showcase DIYbio projects that demonstrate entrepreneurial spirit. The White House will be an great venue to show off your work. To participate please submit your project using the following online form. Deadline: Mon. April 28th.  In conjunction with the Maker Faire at the White House, a larger Maker Faire will be held elsewhere in DC.

White House Matchmaker

If you are developing a STEM education project and are seeking to partner with a foundation or corporation, participating can be an incredible opportunity to see your project go from idea to reality. If the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy can help, it'll put you in touch with potential partners. Please send Stephanie Santoso at (Stephanie...@ostp.eop.gov)  a one-page description of your idea, describing the project, target audience, impact, potential partner organizations, and resources needed.  Deadline: Mon. April 14th.

Publicize Your Work

The White House would also like to announce new partnerships that provide access to tools, spaces, educational materials, and mentors for students and entrepreneurs. If you are in the process of working on an agreement (or just finished one) and would like to announce it as part of the White House Maker Faire, please send a one page description of the partnership to Stephanie Santoso by Mon. April 28th.

The White House has taken an incredibly positive stance on DIYBio. This is an excellent opportunity. I recommend you all apply.

Thanks,

Dan

TakeItApart has been hitting makerfaires, got a mention in NY Times
outta the NYC event, and we're all ready for the San Mateo one in May!
So we'll definitely be applying to this one!!! I haven't actually been
to one yet, the rest of the team has been though, I'm excited! I'd
love to see some DIYbio peeps at any of them!

My guess it's for people in the States, but it doesn't hurt to enquire.

I've only ever been to Pittsburgh mini maker but I may just have to make time and room for this one! Especially if some of you guys will be there!
