Does anyone a good (preferably cheap) place to get a bacteria strain with the T7 RNA polymerase? I am of the RNA polymerase gene... Thanks!

I have it.

It has a plasmid coding for the T7 RNA polymerase.
I am not sure I can send you the bacteria but probably I can send you the plasmid that codify for it. We have tu discuss privately about it.

Let me know.

Ale

Hi Koeng,

If you're having trouble finding a source for the bacteria strain, you may want to explore my company's website as we host research vendors and their service/product offerings. In regards to your request, we have a couple category listings you can consider using to communicate with the vendors listed: Cell Line Construction (https://www.assaydepot.com/service/cell-line-construction) and Strain Development (https://www.assaydepot.com/service/strain-development)

We can also help you source the strain (e.g. we'll communicate with our vendors, generate quotations for you, and provide you a report for you to review for your vendor selection and order). Simply send us an email at exp...@assaydepot.com with your details and our team will work with you right away.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Best regards,

Sherman

If you are looking for bacteria that express T7 polymerase you should probably ask around for BL21 cells most any modern lab should have some.

Yea, it turns out the BL21 cells I had didn't have the DE3 lysogen, (it is so annoying, took me a while to figure out that was the problem.)

I think one of the other people in my lab have it, thanks!

The genotype for many common laboratory strains is given here:

great little resource.
