We recently put out a call on Facebook for old electronics over here in Bangkok, so that we can being building up our DIYbio lab...the response has been great, but we've also been offered a load of old TVs (all sorts). Does anyone have any good suggestions on what we can do with them, besides stripping them down and extracting gold from the components? :)

They have power supplies, including high voltage ones for electrophoresis.

You can work on adding your own controls for the beam... if you can
achieve rastering your own images, you can pretty much apply this
circuitry for driving an SEM beam for micro imaging!

Great idea, thanks! And in line with some of the work we're doing on DNA over here at the moment :)

Hi Nathan - this is a bit outside our understanding at the moment, so can you perhaps explain your thinking a bit more? Thanks!
