Two
professors started a podcast last year covering developments in urban
agriculture. They do an exceptional job of collecting and presenting
information about larger operations, but also encourage efforts by any
interested people. The topic is one that struggled along for several
decades, but now seems to be expanding. Some places, like Boston, are
considering changes to building codes that encourage greater development
of these growing projects. The podcast, called
Urban Agriculture – The third green revolution,
is produced in New York City. The podcast focus is large scale, while this group is mostly dealing with micro to macroscopic, but the use of technology to improve food production should interest a few of the DIYers.
