Hi, there are a couple of people interested into a first DIYbio meeting, hopefully forming a group. I'm staring to get into bioinformatics, too, and my personal project is to build a EKG (as a learning model) and do biodata classification with maching learning.

While not in Buenos Aires, We at Backyard Brains have an office in Santiago, Chile, where we have workshops every month and are building a community of biohacking (focusing on electrical signals of the body) here.

Hi Gaston, I think we have similar interests! I'm very interested into collecting and classifying biodata, e.g. building a DIY EKG and use support vector machine on it. I'm sure we could work on some projects together. What do you want to do with Python and MATLAB?

In Buenos Aires is a new DIYbio / biohackers group, please be wecome: http://www.meetup.com/biohackingBA

I'm am undergraduate in biochemistry, and I was planning to learn python and Matlab on the summer. So I'm not sure if I'll come in handy but if you think I can help I'll be pleased to  join you. I have a little background on Matlab tough and basic biochemistry and cellular biology knowledge.
